The P&C now operates an Outside School Hours Care service on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2.30pm - 5.30pm.

Homebush Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) commenced in 2020 as an initiative of Homebush State School Parents and Citizens' Association, which exists to promote Homebush State School's interests, facilitate the school's development and contribute to the school's overall improvement.

Homebush OSHC is committed to proudly providing our community with a safe, caring, and supportive after-school care service, which strives to meet industry standards and prioritises the physical, social, and emotional needs of all children in our care.

Our OSHC program is flexible, child-led, and leisure-based, we strive to holistically support children through the development and maintenance of respectful relationships. Our program offers a wide range of activities and experiences, providing children with the opportunity to choose how they spend their time after school. We value inclusion, teach life skills, advocate for children's agency, and celebrate cultural diversity. We encourage children to be themselves, to learn through play, to be happy, safe, healthy, and calm, and to have respect for themselves, others, and the environment.

OSHC staff intentionally observe, understand and respond to children's play and evolving skills, strengths, behaviour and interests, then use this knowledge to continually adjust the learning environment, provide developmental and age appropriate activities, experiences and challenges and drive quality improvement, ensuring children's happiness, engagement, wellbeing and development is well supported by capable, caring staff who are able to deliver high-quality models of care in a relaxed, enjoyable environment.

Valuable community connections encourage the school, staff, families, students and the wider community to collaborate, contribute and provide feedback to the program, this role models consideration and cooperation, fosters a solid sense of belonging and constructs an environment which truly reflects those who spend time at Homebush OSHC and the small community in which they live.
